Wolf Trap Show

Ok, the best way to sum up the show would be AMAZING...she and the band sounded perfect and had a lot of energy. First things first--she came out at 9 on the DOT!! This was my first time at Wolf Trap...I loved the venue! Sound was great, all of the staff was easy going and you were not only allowed to bring in your own food/drinks/alcohol, but you can take all the pictures you want (this last fact I didn't know until I arrived, so sorry, no photos from me...) I was in the 8th or 9th row, but the staff let me change seats, so I was in the front by the end of the show, which was a nice plus. One thing I'm still not used to is the venues that everyone SITS!! Ugh!! I had had it by IIMYH and I just stood up...and I was actually cheered on by the people behind me, so I was good to stand for the rest of the show.

Sheryl seemed to be in a great mood- She even joked with the crowd a few times and included a cute tribute to Michael Jackson during one of the songs! Setlist was great...almost couldn't ask for better! She played a total of 19 songs last night, 3 of them being encores. I was able to get a setlist (*awaiting a smart comment from SCOUT) which is good because as hard as I tried I couldn't remember all of the songs!! Here is the setlist:

Lets see, in a quick recap...Can't Cry Anymore is the song she did the cute tribute to Michael...doing 3 'hee hee' at the end of the song where she gets higher...then put her hand up and said, that was for Michael. Right before Picture she said "and I'd like to bring out Kid Rock" this of course, had the crowd screaming and clapping...then she said "no really, I would...but he isn't here tonight" Lyrics flubbed a bit...but no one around me seemed to notice. I think it was during LLV that she was staring off at the great sunset in awe of how great god is or something similar and she "fucked up her own song". Show was GREAT, don't know how else to put it! Gotta say that out of all of the shows I've seen, this is definately now in my top 5!

I have to run for a bit, but I wanted to get the setlist up!!

Great review. I'm jealous you had a better setlist than Philly. Sheryl made the same comment abot Kid Rock in Philly.

Thanks for the review. She was just as great on the 4th. She sang picture with Tim and I did like it. I didn't hear the Michael thing but all I could say is HeeHeeHee, she's Bad!

Thanks very much, Sunshine Sally 02 for your great review.! If anyone took some photos, please send them along. Wish that I could have been there. I'm glad that she sang Real Gone. That was one that I suggested on the survey for songs to sing in future concerts. Picture must have been strange as a solo. Too bad that Tim couldn't have filled in for Kid Rock. I like his voice. I love the Wolf Trap venue too. When we lived there in Vienna, we saw Peter Paul and Mary in concert as well as West Side Story. P.P. and Mary introduced me to a new song that I have been singing ever since: Don't Laugh at Me. At the time, my handicapped son was being bullied at school. This song touched a raw chord in my heart and tears just streamed down my face for the entire song! The most poignant part of the song is: ... Someday we'll all have perfect wings...I now perform this song in public and like to tell that story to preface the song. I've noticed that others shed a tear or two too. Recently, I sang it to a class that I was substitute teaching in and most of them knew the song!! I guess that it's the anti-bullying theme song for schools here in Ottawa. Wolftrap- A great place, beautiful evening and Sheryl Crow-What more can you ask for! Sheryl played a great playlist and had the crowd rocking. It was fun. But she'd expect her fans to be honest and with that said, the sound mix was all over the place. The mix was BASS heavy and vocal thin. The backing tape was slow-you could see the band look aghast when they broke into, All I wanna do.... I sat in center row M and walked outside too-it was not good. I'm sorry, luv ya Sheryl.

I don't think I've seen Picture performed live.
One thing I appreciate about Sheryl performances is that they begin on time.
