I
feel
your
pain,
I
was
on
vacation
in
NY
this
past
week
and
my
son
(28)
called
me
to
tell
me
that
the
vet
recommended
putting
my
youngest
sons
dog
down.
His
name
was
shadow
and
we
had
him
for
12
years.
I
had
to
explain
this
to
my
son
while
we
were
in
NY
and
it
crushed
him,
but
he
knew
it
was
the
humane
thing
to
do.
I
had
my
son
bring
him
home
to
bury
him
though,
so
at
least
we
can
visit
him
here
at
home.
God
bless
you,
I
know
it`s
tough.

I
will
say
that
this
was
the
hardest
thing
I
ever
had
to
do.Not
just
for
my
daughter
either,
it
is
defintily
true
about
being
man's
best
freind
but
when
looking
back
it
is
better
than
watching
her
and
my
daughter
suffer.Thanks
again
to
all
those
who
commented
and
gave
advice...it
was
all
very
helpful

Sometimes
it's
hard
but
at
the
end
of
the
day
as
hard
as
it
seems
now
you
did
what
was
best
for
your
Dog
and
I'm
sure
your
youngster
will
understand.

You
have
my
sympathy's,
but
it
was
something
that
had
to
be
done.
Your
daughter
will
learn
to
acept
this
decision
and
know
it
was
the
best
thing
and
had
to
be
done.
God
Bless.

I've
found
that
being
honest
and
open
about
good
and
bad
is
usually
the
best
policy.
I
have
a
daughter
too.
We're
the
ones
that
the
kids
look
up
to
when
tough
decisions
have
to
be
made.
Like
exjacobite
said,
kids
have
a
good
grasp
on
things
like
that.
What
they
know,
they
can
deal
with.
The
unknown
is
what's
scary
to
them.
Take
care
of
what
needs
to
be
done.
Your
daughter
will
come
to
terms
with
it
better
knowing
that
your
pet
isn't
in
pain
anymore.

Umm
a
Tough
one
really,
It's
hard
to
end
your
journey
with
any
animal,
I'd
try
to
be
as
honest
as
I
could
be
as
I've
found
that
kids
have
a
better
grasp
of
such
things
than
you
give
them
credit
for
,I'm
not
ashamed
to
say
I
weep
when
my
animals
are
put
down
and
know
of
tougher
chaps
that
have
been
in
tears
when
their
horses
go
to
the
other
side

thtas
the
problems
I
am
not

how
much
she
is
suffering,,her
kidneys
failed
Sunday
and
she
has
been
on
only
IV
since>She
still
sits
up
and
wants
to
ply
but
cant
digest
anything.Close
friends
certainly
don't
deserve
to
suffer
just
hard
to
do
and
hard
to
watch
the
little
one
go
thru.I
have
already
explained
it
to
her
just
hope
she
dosn't
hate
me
if
that's
what
I
have
to
do.Thanks
for
the

I
am
so
sorry
to
hear
that.
but
you're
right
Scfan77,
if
it
has
to
be
done,
then
you
have
to.
Specially
if
the
dog
is
suffering:(

Death
is
apart
of
life
and
you
can't
make
the
animal
suffer
by
keeping
it
alive
if
it's
suffering
or
in
pain
just
because
your
daughter
will
be
crushed.
I
had
a
rottweiler
for
12
years
that
I
had
to
have
taken
away
to
be
put
down
because
she
was
suffering
and
nothing
else
could
be
done
for
her
it
broke
my
heart
but
as
I
said
it's
life
so
sit
your
kid
down
and
explain
that
to
her
and
just
be
there
to
comfort
her
when
she's
sad
that's
all
that
can
be
done.
I'm
sorry
you
have
to
go
thru
this
it's
not
an
easy
thing
:(
