Aye that's true, evita! I only discovered I was a Sheryl fan about 2004. Before that I was an unconfirmed Sherylite (Sherylonian?) for a yera or two. I remember a guy at work years before that telling me "you should try Sheryl Crow's music, Chris, you'll really like her.." but often you got to do things in your own time, y'know. So for me it's a bonus when you discover a fave artists song years later. Chris bees... more

I wasn't aware of this song at all but I just took a quick look on 'tube. Mind you I'm a guy that went on holiday to Greece, walked out of the appartments and then later couldn't remember where I was staying. Y'know you just can't be aware of everything. Takes too long. Took me nearly an hour to load half a dozen photographs. Life is too short?... more

If you can get there go. I saw "slowhand" back in July 2003 and I thought it was brilliant. A compact disc of Sheryl or Eric is great but a live show is something else.... more

This is a very tricky one to comment on. The answer from me would be that I have absolutely no idea.... more

Newcastle in the north of England is a great place to visit. I went there for about five days and they love their music there. And their football team Newcastle United and they enjoy a good time. The toon centre is very nice and the people speak with an accent so strong that if you come from 150 miles away it can be hrd to understand the locals. :-) I heard of people there jumping into the Tyne after a couple of beers. Not a good idea! Newcastle people (Geordies) are passionate about music and their team...... more

Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't see any outcome to this thread. Although I may be wrong neither were there any thanks after advice given by various people. Would that be too much to ask? And do some posters think we are a free advisory service? Ah hey! (as they say iround these parts) ah hey...... more

Perhaps writer Marc Hirsh could give some examples of the above. That would be most useful. Thank you. Meanwhile, put on Let It Be by the Beatles and I think you will find the fab four getting all sensitivey and femaley chordy progressy. Also Bob Marley "No Woman..." love, bees... more

Yes a nice rocky record would be most pleasing to my ears :-). Though I respect Sheryl will make the right choice for her in the end. One thing I really like about her music is her lyrics. She's brilliant at coming up with a good phrase that sticks in the memory. Sheryl has a good turn of phrase. She does. Gifted musically and gifted lyrically. She's blessed. (Bees)... more

I wanted to say what Alan just said but I think he said it much better than me! personally I'd like the new album to be rocky Sheryl more than anything. But an artist has their own path to follow and I suppose they don't always know why! Sheryl will follow her instinct and we shall see...watch this space? (Bees)... more

I speak of "With Or Without You" by U2, 1987 The Joshua Tree. :-)Brilliant group, one of my favourite bands of all time. I won't hear a word against them. I love their songs (mostly) and Bono makes me laugh. I just ignore his speeches when he gets all preachy! Well then, sensitive female chord progression? The jury is out on that one?... more

Hang on, hang on! I just thought of a well known song that uses the chord progression that starts on the I and goes I - V - vi - IV. So its the same four chords progressing around but starting on the I. I think it starts on a D major chord going down to an A major then to a B minor and then on to a G major. The chord progression takes up four bars altogether with a bar of each chord. Without having my guitar to hand or a piano (I'm in a town centre library) I think the chorus uses pretty much the same pa...... more

Well I find this very interesting. I'm not sure I would completely agree to it but its interesting. A couple of things spring to mind immediately: how would Joni Mitchell fit into this scheme, as she's known to base her songs on dozens of different tunings that don't always correspond to I IV V and vi in any order. Secondly, the Crowded House song "Better Be Home Soon" which is a great little song using these chords on the verses I think: I vi ii V IV. Seems to be dangerously close to the sensitive fema...... more

Per amore o per forza! Venice? I don't think that I said how nice it was to take off shoes and socks and walk barefoot through the streets! :-) Not having to sprint across madly busy road junctions helps. You can just keep winding on down the alleyways and piazzas up and over all the scores of bridges. Turn a corner and out of nowhere some church or chapel looms above you and you stand and wonder. Music is never far away in italy. Defintely one of my favourite cities is Venice. I aim to return there befo...... more

I'll be crossing the pond in Mid-July. I do hope to visit Liverpool on a magical misery tour (my first visit to Britain). Any travel tips?
